Paper Shredding
Do we have to make an appointment for paper shredding? My shredder broke yesterday and I have lots of shredding. Thank you.

Hi, great question!
There are no appintments necessary for our Shredding Events, but in order to accomodate as many people as possible, we have a limit of 3 bags per person. State Bank of The Lakes recently held their events from May 1st -8th and will hold their next events on September 18th and 25th, so be sure to mark your calendar!
If you need more immediate shredding, our sister bank Crystal Lake Bank & Trust, will be holding free shred events from 9am - 12 pm at their following locations:
July 17th - Crystal Lake Bank & Trust, 70 N. Williams.
July 17th - Algonquin Bank & Trust, 4049 W. Algonquin Rd.
July 24th - Cary Bank & Trust, 60 E. Main St.
July 24th - McHenry Bank & Trust, 2205 N. Richmond Rd.
To participate in theirs, however, you will simply have to stop by any of the above bank locations and pick up a coupon good for up to three boxes of paper. Then, come to any of the bank locations on the event day and the industrial shredding truck will shred your confidential documents onsite.
Hope this helps and have a great day!-
ladybon10 June 17, 2010 20:46Thank you Erin. When you say we are allowed 3 bags, are you referring to brown grocery bags?EditDeleteRemove

Yes, 3 brown grocery bags would work perfectly. Happy shredding!

Hello Erin, thanks for your help. I hate to be a pest, but is it OK to put all the papers in a 30 gal. garbage bag? I don't have brown paper grocery bags, and the plastic grocery bags are too small. Thanks for your patience.

That will work fine as well. You can also use up to 3 boxes if that is easier for you.
Enjoy your day! -
